I spent one and a half days on the strawberry field. The task was to spray them with herbicide. I had a 3,5 gallon (13 liters ) pump tank and a long spray nozzle. It's important to spray only the weed in order not to kill the money-bringing plant; the chemical doesn't pick which plant to kill.
Also personal protection is important. On the first day I felt a bit dizzy 'cause I was not wearing a mask until lunch. Although feeling dizzy could have been for some other reason just as well...
You cover strawberries with straw to protect them for the winter. Perhaps that's where the name strawberry comes from.
